CLAN is the story of a group hell-bent on existing in a festive universe. A group which refuses to accept the idea that everything could come to an end as if its members were dancing on a volcano.
The piece can be likened to a ritual made from only one substance within which the individual presence of each performer emanates out of one another and merges in continual movement. The group is both like one body but is also able to give way to the individual in its progression, to enable a solo and a duo without losing cohesion. It evolves into a dynamic made up of paradoxes and juxta positional states.
CLAN gives the audience a chance to observe a group’s journey within an established temporality. A group facing an imminent end oscillating between blindness and lucidity all the while, running the risk of heading straight into a brick wall.
